What are egalitarian works?
Egalitarian works light a journey,
A discipline cursed with quirks,
Taken by any no longer at peace,
In a world where much evil still lurks.
Loneliness and hopelessness,
Depression and dismay.
To the death of these! To the past with these!
They’re done! They’ve had their day!
Take a deep breath. Compose yourself.
Count from ten to one.
Confront your demons. Bury your hatchets.
Your rivalries, undone.
While each of us fights that valiant fight,
Wrestling our inner greed,
May we kindle a candle of empathy,
For those who are in need?
They’re in need of bountiful beacons,
Amid a pitch black sea,
Of cyclical violence and dogmatic hatred,
And shameless hypocrisy.
Let our voices resonate,
Our lux coalesce,
Enveloping umbras flicker and flee,
Bigots acquiesce.
Egalitarians! Egalitarians!
Rise and shine!
Illuminate! Annunciate!
Give the oppressed a sign!
Signal to them that they’re not alone!
And soon they’ll all be free!
Sound the bells and spread the word!
Of their work’s galvanic glee!
Their works wither woes wondrously,
Inspiring you and me,
To question, encounter, and to devote,
To Love. Q.E.D.
